It's very common for team members to make creative suggestions and we have huge appetites for getting better and better and better! We tend to escalate decisions to leadership instead of going above and beyond and taking a risk in the moment. B. Pretty good but not excellent. Occasionally team members will step outside their comfort zone and do something extra without clearing it with someone in leadership. C. Amazing! Empowerment is a strength. Our leaders celebrate when front line team members act on their behalf and do the right thing for the people we serve. Our leaders can't be everywhere, so they encourage everyone to go above and beyond. Prev Next (3) Are your team members inspired beyond their job descriptions to a higher purpose, impacting lives in a special way? A. That sounds like a good idea....but no, not really. We think about our roles more in the realm of our individual duties. B. We have a mission statement that's pretty cool but I doubt many team members think about it day to day. C. Boy do we! Our team is inspired by our higher purpose and it fuels us beyond our normal tasks. Our jobs can be tough, but the higher purpose makes it all worth it. Prev Next (4) To what extent is your organization absolutely delighting the socks off the people you serve? Delight involves joy, surprise, and compulsion to tell another! A. The people we serve are usually satisfied but we also get more than our fair share of complaints. B. I don't know about delight but alot of the people we serve keep coming back. We get complaints, but nothing overwhelming. C. This is our signature strength! The people we serve are dazzled and delighted by the wonderful, caring, memorable service they receive day in and day out from our team. We can't possibly have time to read all the thank you letters we receive from them! Prev Next (5) To what extent do your team members show initiative, proactively tackling the hard problems even when no one is looking? A. Not the best. Seems like our team members stay in the safe, easy zone of their roles, being more reactive than proactive. B. Pretty strong. We have some devoted team members who take care of business! There are plenty who need alot of direction though. C. Real strong! Our team members know they are empowered and show great ownership of their roles and any challenge that comes their way. Initiative is often celebrated. Prev Next (6) Is your organization experiencing unwanted turnover, saying goodbye to solid performers who left for a better opportunity? A. Yes, we are. We have lost of long string of great people and I know it's very costly! B. On occasion. Sometimes it's tough to compete with other opportunities and we end up on the losing end of the deal. C. It's pretty low. Our culture breeds loyalty because we prioritize the needs of the team and empower them to make a difference in people's lives. Prev Next (7) Does your organization positively recognize team members and celebrate successes? A. Rarely. Our mentality is that the work done by the team is just expected. B. Sometimes! I think this is really appreciated when it happens but we could do it more. C. We do. Culture building and reinforcing our values and purpose are of primary importance. This is what makes our organization so strong. Prev Next (8) Do you see alot of collaboration and teamwork, people sharing ideas and solving problems together? A. It's not the norm. We tend to work and solve problems pretty independently. B. Yes. We share ideas with each other to solve problems, but there are also examples where we work too independently. C. Certainly do. Innovation is driven through collaboration. We include lots of people in the process to get the best results. The more the merrier. Prev Next (9) Do your leaders seek out observations, new ideas, and suggestions from all levels of the organization? A. Not often. The leaders have enough insights on their own. B. Sometimes that happens, but honestly seeking out these ideas is not our highest priority. C. Yes. Our leaders seek out this type of input all the time. We realize that team members on the front lines have the best suggestions! Prev Next (10) How’s the overall morale within your team? Everyone happy to be a part of the team and getting along? Morale is low from time to time for a variety of reasons. We hear complaints and have to work to keep morale up. Pretty good. Most days are positive but there is also some conflict and discontent to deal with. We have a family type culture. Our team is well cared for and cares for each other too. This feels like a positive place.
